A generalization of the Giulietti-Korchmaros maximal curve

We introduce a family of maximal curves over the finite fields GF(q^2n), for every odd positive integer n. When n=3 our curve coincides with the maximal curve that has been found by Giulietti-Korchmaros recently. Their curve (i.e., the case n=3) is the first example of a maximal curve shown to be not covered by the Hermitian curve over GF(q^6).
