Expanding Lorenz attractors through resonant double homoclinic loops

We study the existence of Lorenz attractors in the unfolding of resonant double homoclinic loops. Our results generalize the ones obtained by Robinson in two ways. First we obtain attractors insteady of weak attractors. Second we use a distortion condition along the loop to enlarge the region in the parameter space corresponding to Lorenz attractors.
