Homoclinic bifurcations: from Poincaré to present time

We conjecture that dynamical systems displaying homoclinic bifurcations are dense in the complement of the hyperbolic ones. In fact, the conjecture is true for C1 diffeomorphisms of surfaces, a remarkable result recently obtained by Pujals and Sambarino [PS].
