REGULARITY OF THE FILTRATION FUNCTION INVERSE PROBLEM FOR FLOW IN POROUS MEDIA

In this paper we prove analyticity, stability and monotonicity of the filtration function obtained as the solution of an inverse problem based on experimental measurements of other quantities. The results follow from properties of a functional equation derived from the model equations. Based on these results we propose modifications to a previously presented method for determining the filtration function from effluent concentration history, which make it more robust. Numerical results are presented.
